openstack/election — Week of 2026-08-22

PTL candidacies for 2027.1. The bulk of the week was nomination filings for the upcoming cycle, with around 20 candidacy documents landing across a broad slate of projects: Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Manila, Heat, Cyborg, Watcher, Barbican, Swift, Tacker, QA, Storlets, Cloudkitty, Vitrage, Adjutant, Sunbeam, OSA, Puppet OpenStack, and the OpenStack Charms. Most projects saw a single PTL nominee submit their statement.

TC candidacies. Four candidacies were filed for Technical Committee seats in the 2027.1 election, from contributors representing a mix of operator and developer backgrounds.

Tooling. The election helper scripts saw a non-trivial refactor: contributor recording was extracted into its own function (~330 lines of churn across two changes), and the owners CLI had its options sorted by short alias for consistency.
