openstack/kayobe — Week of 2026-08-22

Networking fixes. The week was dominated by nmstate work: a fix for bridge VLAN MTU handling landed on master and was backported to three stable branches (~216 lines total), paired with a companion change to set the MTU on nmstate bridge ports, also carried across four branches. Together these eight changes make up the bulk of the week's activity and close out an MTU propagation gap in the nmstate-based host networking path.

Driver and validation fixes. The dell-switch role had its invocation of the dellemc.os* Ansible modules corrected, trimming ~30 lines while updating the call sites. Bifrost's extra_kernel_params validation was also tightened to handle the input correctly.

Maintenance. Old Ansible upgrade code was deleted outright, and CI switched to the kernel-modules-extra-matched package for its kernel module dependency.
