Packaging and tox modernization. The bulk of the week is a sweep through the project's build and test scaffolding: a
pyproject.toml
lands to support pip 23.1,
MANIFEST.in
is removed, hacking is bumped, and the minimum tox version moves to 3.18.0. Several tox cleanups follow from that floor — dropping the redundant
VIRTUAL_ENV
injection, removing
basepython
, dropping the
install_command
override, and replacing
UPPER_CONSTRAINTS_FILE
with the newer constraints variable. Python 3.8, 3.9 and 3.10 are dropped from the support matrix, and README churn removes stale url tags and an obsolete note about old pip behavior.

Release plumbing. The 2026.2 branch was cut:
.gitreview
and
TOX_CONSTRAINTS_FILE
are pointed at
stable/2026.2
, and master is opened for the next cycle. A late
.gitreview
update also lands on
unmaintained/2023.1
.

Fixes. One functional fix corrects a wrong function name in the image-pull path; a typo fix rounds out the week.
