Java runtime refresh. The largest change swaps out
json-simple
for
gson
in the Java-side storlet handling (1004666), and Java dependencies were bumped alongside a small refactor of the
string:string
hash parsing. Together these move the JVM half of storlets onto a more actively maintained JSON library and newer library baselines.

DevStack and tooling. The DevStack plugin trimmed its user-option surface and dropped a set of shell scripts in favour of direct Python module executions, shedding roughly 30 lines from the install path. A stale workaround for an old
install_docker
script was removed, and tox lost a redundant
passenv
entry. Several unused variables were also cleaned out of the tree.

Release plumbing. The 18.0.0 release note landed, and
.gitreview
plus
TOX_CONSTRAINTS_FILE
were updated for the new
stable/2026.2
branch.
